Since 1968, Twentynine Palms High School and Yucca Valley High School football teams have competed in a yearly game to determine which team will possess the Kiwanis Bell, a coveted trophy that was intended to promote wholesome rivalry and good sportsmanship between the two schools. This mural designed by Los Angeles artist Art Mortimer was the city's second Mural-in-a-day project, painted by three assistants and 17 students.
